LOUVER OPERATION
- For increased energy efficiency, position the louvers upward to allow for airflow to deflect into the room.
- Poor room circulation may create window sweating or condensation in the winter months. If this occurs, position the louvers in a downward position with a slight gap to allow warm air to reach the window.
- Closing the louvers with a 1/8” gap will create a more consistent and aesthetically pleasing look when complete privacy is required as there will be slight variances between louvers.
- Should you want to adjust the louver tension please refer to our DIY video for guidance:

Shutters are classified as room darkening, not blackout.
PANEL OPERATION
To open panels:
- Ensure the louvers are in open position.
- Place two hands on the vertical jamb on the opposite side of the hinges.
- Pull the panel in towards the room. Since the panels are locked into position by either a panel lock system or catch magnet system, a slight effort will be required to pull the panels open.
To close panels:
- Place two hands on the vertical jamb on the opposite side of the hinges.
- Push the panels toward the window. If a panel lock system is used then a greater force will be required to secure the panel into the groove of the frame.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
- Use a duster or a cloth dampened with water only.
- If the shutter(s) require a more heavy-duty cleaning, use warm water and mild dish soap. Always wipe off the product with a damp cloth after using mild dish soap or to remove any residue.
OTHER
Plug in air fresheners should not be directly under the shutters as some residue may stain the product over time. Please remember situations such as this are not covered under the warranty.
CAULKING
If an opening is framed, caulking may be used at the frame corners to hide the joining shadow or along the side to hide any light bleed. In order for the caulking to adhere properly, we ask that you do not open your shutter panels for 24 Hours.
